YEAR OF EVANGELIZATION

A Letter from Fr. Dindo --

During the Year of 2020, the parish will celebrate the theme of “Evangelization: On a Mission from God.” “What does evangelize mean? To give witness with joy and simplicity to who we are and what we believe in”-Pope Francis.

In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus commissions his Apostles and all Christians to “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them….and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” This commission extends to all of us through our baptism. Evangelization is not just for extroverts or other religions; we are all called to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. In fact, we are here today because the 12 Apostles evangelized!

One simple way to evangelize is to invite someone to Mass or a parish event. Never under estimate the power of a personal invitation. Many people have returned to Mass, joined a Bible study or RCIA because of a simple invitation from someone they knew.

Each week we will feature a different bulletin article with ideas on how and why we need to evangelize. There will also be extra resources regarding evangelization on our parish website, www.stmarymokena.org

Holy Spirit, come fill us with the courage to share our faith with others.
