YOUNG ADULTS

L'Alto Young Adult Network

What does L'Alto mean?

We have chosen the name "L'Alto" in honor of our patron, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Frassati was a young adult himself when he died at age 24 of polio. He had a devotion to the faith and to the poor. He wasn't raised in a faith-filled home like so many of the saints, but even from a young age and without any prompting he was captivated by the Eucharist and the Liturgy.

Frassati was also an avid adventurer who enjoyed skiing and climbing mountains. On the last photo taken of him climbing, he wrote the phrase he is know for: "Verso L'Alto" or "To the heights." This is interpreted not just as climbing a physical mountain but as our climb "Upwards to heaven." We are reminded of his acceptance of grace and his determination to climb closer to Christ. Frassati was a man of action and we pray that as a group we can take action together and encourage one another to grow in faith! May he be an example  to us all.

Who is L'Alto Young Adult Network for?

All young adults ages 18-39 are invited to our events. Some events are also geared towards young adults with children and will be stated in the event flyer.

L'Alto--To the heights! Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!
