child someone special. Through stories, songs, finger plays, and prayer, the children begin to sense God's love for them. Preschool classes are held on Sundays from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.. from September through April.

The Religious Education Program uses the series, Faith First, published by

The students in Unit 1 are introduced to the Creed - We Believe! They will study our beliefs abut God, the Trinity, Mary, Death and Resurrection, etc. The students will read and reflect on God's love for us and for all creation. Scripture stories are a very important part of each unit and so the student will hear Scripture proclaimed during each class.

Unit 2 leads the student into reflections on Worship (Liturgy) and the Sacraments. It will highlight the role of the Church in recalling God's Goodness to us. It will introduce the children to the sacraments and to the Celebration of the Mass. Each year, the Sacraments take on more meaning and with a deepened Faith; the students realize their responsibilities as Baptized Catholics in new ways.

Unit 3 is a call to holiness. "Christian Morality" guides our life decisions. The unit guides the students in their reflections on the 10 Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the two greatest Commandments. The 10 Commandments are divided into two sections; love for God and love for others. As in the other two units, Scripture is key and the basis for instruction.

Unit 4 helps the students talk to God (pray) in many different ways: use of formal prayer such as the Our Father, Hail Mary, etc., liturgical prayer and informal prayer. The beautiful text and pictures enhance the notion of prayer. Added features include such Catholic practices as the Corporal Works of Mercy, the Stations of the Cross, the Divine Praises, the Precepts of the Church and many more.

Grades 7 and 8

Grades 7 and 8 also have four units with similar topics, but the information is distributed throughout two textbooks.

The seventh grade texts are: Jesus in the New Testament and Mystery of God. The eighth grade texts are Church and Sacraments and Morality.

The Liturgical Church Year is covered in a most comprehensive manner.
Faith First walks through the weeks of Advent, Lent, Resurrection and the Easter Season, Ascension and Pentecost in a beautiful and informative way.Students in our sacramental years will devote portions of certain lessons for preparation for the Sacraments of Eucharist, Reconciliation and Confirmation, in addition to the above material.
